A defined piece of work
Start with the priorities. Agree the boundaries, the information needed and the responsibilities on each side.
About Carrick
Carrick Financial Health is led by a Chartered Management Accountant with more than 25 years’ experience across finance, operations, governance and business change. The team provides senior financial leadership and practical corporate support to health and social care organisations.
Financial information is only useful when it helps you understand the business and decide what to do. Carrick’s approach connects reporting with the operational questions behind it.
That may mean understanding a package margin, writing a business plan, preparing an NHS tender or testing the financial case for a new service. The work starts with the decision, not with a standard bundle of reports.
Support also extends to the people and governance side of the business: clear policies, useful staff handbooks, employment documents, internal recruitment and organised company records.
For a wider change, we can assess costs and business investment, compare premises options and coordinate an office move. Compliance work brings the relevant records, responsibilities and actions together, from VAT, payroll and umbrella reviews to the business side of CQC inspection preparation.
Carrick provides business support to healthcare organisations. It does not provide clinical care.
You should know what is being done, why it matters and what is expected of you. These principles shape every proposed engagement.
Start with the priorities. Agree the boundaries, the information needed and the responsibilities on each side.
Explain the findings in straightforward language. Be clear about assumptions, limitations and the decisions needed.
Bring finance and operations together, rather than treat the accounts as a separate exercise.
You may already have an accountant, bookkeeper, payroll provider, HR adviser or internal management team. Carrick can work alongside them where there is a defined gap in capacity, financial leadership, people support or governance administration.
The starting point is to understand who does what today. From there, the engagement can focus on the work that adds value without duplicating existing arrangements.
Your business. Your decisions.
Better information and support around you.
The team’s wider commercial and finance experience has been built across organisations where cash, controls, governance, people and delivery all matter.
